Is Benedictus Organics the same restaurant called Benedictus Steak House?

Yes it is the same. We first open the restaurant as a Steak House but are in the process, since then, of becoming a full organic restaurant.

Where is Benedictus located?

The Restaurant entrance is located 5.5 km (3.5 miles) west of La Fortuna Town, across the main entrance of Hotel Nayara, on route 142, the one leading to the Arenal National Park and Tabacon Hot Springs. Although to get to the Restaurant you will have to drive up the hill 800 meters, (half a mile).

Does Benedictus offer food to Vegetarians?

In Fact we are specialized in free-range meats, but we do have some options for vegetarians and for gluten intolerant or celiac customers.

Why Benedictus Restaurant? Because of Pope Benedictus?

No, not for the Pope, but because was the name of a sommelier that was the first person with the idea of opening the Restaurant in the current location.

What time does the Restaurant open?

The Restaurant is opening at 12:20 pm, but soon will be open for breakfast at 8:30 am.

Does the Restaurant take credit cards or traveler checks?

The Restaurant does not take traveler checks but do take credit cards. We take Visa, American Express and Master Card.

Does the Restaurant offer kosher food?

No, we do not offer kosher food.

Do we need a reservation?

It is not mandatory but recommended. Benedictus may host just 25 to 30 well-seated customers in the main Hall. We have a terrace and a Rancho where to accommodate more people, but the weather does not let us use them all the time.

Do we have to dress formally for dinner?

No, it is not necessary to dress formally

Is possible to drive a 2WD car up the hill to Benedictus?

Driving through the countryside of Costa Rica is always better in a 4WD vehicle, but it is possible to drive a 2WD one up the hill over the cemented pathways going all the hilly part of the 800 meters road to the Restaurant.
